2016 Production
This fall, the University of New Hampshire Wildcat Marching Band will continue our tradition of presenting a multi-genre show to appeal to the diverse audiences for which we perform. The production includes drama, excitement, conflict, humor, and fun.
What Happens in Vegas...
As we take the field, radio distress signals and broadcasts play, foreshadowing—subtly—what is to come.
Opener: "It's Not Unusual" by Tom Jones
Welcome to fabulous Las Vegas! We set the scene with iconic Vegas imagery: showgirls, casinos, and the breathtaking Vegas Strip.
Perhaps a small group will toss in a quick homage to "The Carlton" as a short visual. 
Transition: "Godzilla Eats Las Vegas (part I)" by Eric Whitacre
Danger lurks...
Production: "Godzilla" by Blue Öyster Cult
We hint at the presence of the lizard. Bass drums flip to reveal:
More hints may include a "life-sized" tail appearing from behind something on the field and other scaly details.
Percussion Feature (Attack!): "Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites" by Skrillex
We feature our battery percussion and electronic front ensemble, the battery representing Godzilla as he attacks the city.
Taking loose inspiration from the Western Carolina University 2015 Drumline Feature (not dubstep though)
Production 2 (The Battle): "Godzilla Eats Las Vegas (Part II)" by Eric Whitacre
A field drum in the pit calls the winds to assemble as the troops to battle off the monster, but they are interrupted by Elvis. Godzilla is revealed ("I feel so lonely I could—") and the battle ensues. Ultimately, the giant lizard is defeated.
Closer: "Waking Up in Vegas" by Katy Perry
With the monster defeated, we return to "normal" as the sun rises in Vegas and a new day begins. But what happens in Vegas? We'll never tell.
Other info: we may wrap the podium in fabric to be able to hide things/people underneath. Front ensemble may be back out on the field and there may be flats attached to the carts. Expect plenty of sequins in the guard! We still have a lot of visual planning ahead of us!
