The New Hampshire Youth Band brings together at UNH fine players of each instrument in grades 5-12 to form an outstanding band.

Unlike SYMS, the band meets throughout the year and performs two to three concerts.

The Youth Band meets on Wednesdays 6:30 to 8:00 pm in the Paul Creative Arts Center on the UNH campus in Durham. In those rehearsals, the group puts together a concert with a large, well-balanced band. Each week, NHYB members will spend time in sectional rehearsals run by UNH music majors, and the rest of the time in full rehearsal. When it's over, the group plays a concert in the Johnson Theater. After some time off for the holidays, Youth Band begins again in January in preparation for the second semester concert.
