Concert Band Absence Form

• Concert Band is a performance-based course.  Each member is vitally important to the success of the ensemble.  As such, your attendance at each rehearsal and performance is crucial, and grading will be based primarily on attendance.
• If you are unable to be at a rehearsal, I must know in advance when and why you will not be there.  Absences are excused only if you are very sick or have a scheduled class conflict. Work, homework, studying, papers, etc. are NOT considered excused absences.  The rest of the ensemble depends on you to be there.
• Common Exam Time begins at 7:10 PM. "UNH time" allows for 10 minutes between classes. Due to the necessity of putting instruments away, students with a 7:10 exam may leave at 6:55. Please do not ask to leave earlier. Any person missing for any amount of time negatively impacts the ensemble.
• Student organization meetings are not considered an excused absence. Concert Band is a class, and they must respect your need to be in your seat for the duration of the class period. Thank you for understanding.
• Unexcused absences will negatively impact your grade.
